Bitty Ballet is proud to partner with Dignity Freedom Network (DFN) to sponsor a young child in Tamil Nadu, South India:  Mukthika Sree, age 5.

At DFN, their mission is to free just one more child today from the grips of poverty and give one more child the promise of an education that brings the hope of a bright future for tomorrow. This sponsorship allows India’s most vulnerable children to break the chains of a system designed to keep them trapped and impoverished life.

Every month, Bitty Ballet provides financial support for Mukthika and other children in the Dalit area as well as communication and opportunities for our bitty students to connect with Indian students that DFN services in order to share the joy of dance around the world.

Mukthika lives in South India with her mom and dad. Her dad is a mason and works for daily wages, which are low and not steady. Mom is a homemaker. Without our support, Mukthika would not be able to attend school and would be at risk for the cycle of poverty and early child marriage or trafficking. At school, she loves to play indoor games and learning poems and rhymes. She also likes to draw as a budding artist.
